A 1962 Re-Release Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

Because You're Mine, the 1952 Alexander Hall romantic musical comedy ("The NEW Mario Lanza musical has songs, fun and romance!"; "Greater than 'The Great Caruso'!"; "Based on a story by Ruth Brooks Flippen and Sy Gomberg") starring Mario Lanza, Doretta Morrow (billed as "introducing Doretta Morrow"), James Whitmore, Dean Miller, and Rita Corday. Note that Doretta Morrow was a cousin of Vic Damone, and she only appeared in this single movie. She originated the roles of "Tuptim" in "The King and I" (1951) and "Marsinah" in "Kismet" (1953), but she did not get to play either role in the movie versions. She retired in 1956 after marrying, and very sadly, she passed away in 1968 from cancer, and she was only 41.

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the top two crossfolds and a small semi-circular tear in the forehead of the girl. It had slight darkening in the edges of the borders. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
