An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Standee (measures 12 1/2" x 21" [32 x 53 cm]) (Learn More)

The Left Handed Gun, the 1958 Arthur Penn outlaw cowboy western ("This is William Bonney, a juvenile 'tough' from the back-alleys of New York... a teenager wanted dead or alive throughout the West."; "This is the screen's first real story of the strange teen-age desperado known to legend as 'Billy the Kid'..."; "'I don't run, I don't hide, I go where I want, I do what I want.'"; "All of a sudden, just for the 'kicks' Billy would slip down to Mexico...") starring Paul Newman (as Billy the Kid), Lita Milan, John Dehner, Hurd Hatfield, James Congdon, James Best, Colin Keith-Johnston, John Dierkes, Bob Anderson, and Wally Brown. Note that this film was originally intended to star James Dean, but after he died, the part went to Newman.

Important Added Info: Note that this was an advertising tie-in between Acme Boots and the producers of this movie. The boot company provided free boots to all the cast members in return for getting to advertise that they were used in the movie! Acme Boots was a boot company that produced boots from the 1930s to the 1980s (though the brand name is now owned by another company). In the 1940s, Acme Boots became the largest maker of cowboy boots and remained the world's largest until the mid-1980s

Condition: good. There are scuffs and a few scratches scattered throughout, but fortunately, none in any of the three faces of Newman. There are also pinholes in the top area and a few in the bottom. There is some unevenness to the background colors, with some smudges in those areas. The standee backing is still attached and was never used (see our image). This extremely rare standee could be displayed as it is, or certainly, it could have restoration performed.
