An Undated (probably 1920s) Re-release Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Growing Better, the 1923 silent cowboy western starring Bill Patten (billed as "William [Bill] Patten"). If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that Bill Patton appeared in 159 movies between 1917 and 1943, and he had credited roles through the mid 1920s, and then uncredited ones for the rest of his career, and he is completely forgotten today. Veteran stuntman Yakima Canutt, who doubled Patton in many westerns, once said of him, "There's only three things Bill Patton's afraid of: horses, guns and the outdoors". NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: good to very good. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass, but the play dates were mostly erased (see our image).
