Sherwood) starring Raymond Massey (in the title role as President Abraham Lincoln), Albert Phillips, Howard Da Silva, Augusta Dabney, and Muriel Kirkland. The play ran on Broadway for 472 performances in the above years, and then in 1940, it was made into a movie with Raymond Massey recreating his role from the stage. Important Added Info: Note that this news photo, which measures 7" x 9" [18 x 23 cm], is a very rare photo from the stage play version of this show, which was made into a movie two years later. It shows star Raymond Massey with director Elmer Rice and playwright Robert Sherwood. It is dated the day after the show premiered, and the photo was surely taken at the premiere. Condition: good to very good. Note that the news photo is rippled around the edges (because of the snipe glued to the back) and that causes it to not lay completely flat. This causes "distortion" in our image because it does not lay completely flat in our scanner, but this distortion is solely in our digital image, and NOT in the still itself.
