An Autographed Canceled Check (measures 3 1/4" x 8 1/4") (Learn More)

Walter Winchell was a very popular, influential and legendary newspaper columnist of the 1930s and 1940s, and he served as the basis for J.J. Hunsucker in The Sweet Smell of Success (which was originally written by Ernest Lehman, who had worked for Winchell in the 1930s). Winchell also had a popular radio show, and his voice was incredibly distinctive, and when The Untouchables became a TV show, Winchell was chosen to narrate the show in his distinctive style! He passed away in 1972 at the age of 74.
Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Walter Winchell!

Note that this item was consigned to us by a man who was a major movie memorabilia dealer from the 1980s on. During that time, he would regularly purchase collections of movie memorabilia from both dealers and collectors, and in some of those collections he purchased autographed items, and over the years he did not re-sell any of the autographed items. Now he has gathered up together all of his autographed items and consigned them to us. So all of the items from this consignor we are auctioning were purchased by this dealer from longtime dealers and collectors, and we feel it is quite likely that the autograph on this item is authentic!

Condition: very good.
