An Original Vintage Linenbacked English Stage Play Poster (measures 20" x 29 3/4" [51 x 76 cm]) (Learn More) East Lynne, the circa 1900s English stage play production (based on the 1861 novel by Ellen Wood) starring Henry Dundas ("as Archibald Carlyle"), which was held at the Theatre Royal Chatham in Chatham, England. Note that this poster features art based on a photo by H. J. Whitlock. Also note that there were numerous film adaptations of this novel, the most famous of which was made in 1931 and starred Ann Harding. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was folded across the middle and had fine surface paper loss on part of that fold. It had a small play date snipe glued to the top right. It had a few small tears in the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
