Here's Your Chance, the circa 1917 U.S. World War I (WWI) recruitment poster ("Answer the Role Call of Honor"; "Wanted for the United States Army quartermaster department"; "500 Clerks 400 Stenographers 150 Storekeepers 50 Cooks 100 Bakers 30 Butchers 200 Teamsters 400 Skilled Laborers"; "Enlist for the Period of the War and do it now"; "You can serve your country best by doing the work you are best able to do - working at your trade relieves you of all purely military duties, except in cases of emergency - you can enlist in the same unit as your friends - ages 18 to 45 years"; "Minimum requirements: height 5 ft. 1in. weight 110lbs"; "Good pay for all trades with Rank of Sergeant, Corporal or First Class Private"; "Registered Men may enlist before they receive notice to appear for examination"; "Recruiting office S.E. Cor. 39th St & 6th Ave., N.Y.") encouraging Americans to enlist in the Army.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: The poster was placed on to a very thin linen backing shortly after being printed. The purpose was to reinforce the poster, so that it would survive when it was put up on walls and taken down. Such posters can be professionally removed from the original linen and placed on to a proper linen backing. I have done this to several such posters, and they end up looking wonderful! Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 25" x 40 1/4".

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. An unknown amount has been neatly trimmed from the left and right edges of the poster and there is a small amount of pencil writing in the upper right corner. A restorer can remove the poster from the paper and properly linenback it, after which it will look great!
