R2000 Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Art House One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More)

Lola, the 1961 (released in the U.S. in 1962) Jacques Demy Italian/French New Wave cabaret singer romantic love triangle melodrama (about a French cabaret singer who had an affair and a child with a man seven years before, and the man left, promising to return rich, and the singer is courted by two men, but she still believes her true love will return!) starring Anouk Aimee (in the title role as Lola), Marc Michel, Alan Scott, Jacques Harden, Margo Lion, and Elina Labourdette. Note that this was the first feature movie of director Jacques Demy, who went on to direct "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg" three years later, which revisits several of the main themes of this movie!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster is one of a large group of "arthouse" U.S. one-sheets that came from a specific New York theater. Many of these movies ONLY played in a very limited number of theaters, and posters from these movies can be next-to-impossible to find! Also note that because many of these movies were low-budget productions without famous stars, the producers often created great eye-catching posters, knowing how much that would help the success of their movies!

Condition: very good to fine. Note that this poster was never folded. Most movie posters from before 1980 were machine folded immediately after printing, but a very few were left unfolded. An unfolded poster from before 1980 is almost always far more difficult to find than a folded poster of the same title, and finding unfolded posters in excellent condition is even more difficult!
