An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

the 1948 Monogram stock poster created for use by theaters showing releases of the Bowery Boys movies starring Leo Gorcey. Theaters would order these posters which had a large blank area. Sometimes the studio would overprint the stock poster with the title of a specific movie, and sometimes they were sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, so the theater could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. Sometimes stock posters are found with blank snipe areas. Most collectors consider them more valuable with a printed snipe attached, or with an overprinted snipe area. Note that while these posters appear to have been originally printed in 1948, they continued to be used for movies that came out after 1948, and we have seen titles from the 1950s over-printed on them.
