An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Australian Long Daybill Movie Poster (db; measures 14 1/2" x 36 1/2" [37 x 93 cm]) (Learn More)

Donald Duck Presents, the 1940s Australian stock daybill poster used by theaters when showing Walt Disney animated animation cartoon films featuring Donald Duck. This poster had a large blank area in the lower half in which the current films being shown could be added.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this is an Australian daybill for releases of Walt Disney Donald Duck cartoons in Australia in the 1940s. Many examples of this daybill were printed with the title area blank, and then they would overprint posters with the names of specific titles (in this case, "Home Defense").

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

UPDATED 03/30/2011: Note that an Australian poster expert pointed out that this long Australian daybill for "Put-Put Troubles" is a 1940 first release and not 1940s as we initially listed. Other Donald Duck shorts were released in the mid-40s on normal-sized stock daybills similar to this one, but this long daybill is certainly from the 1940 first release (had it been from a later date, then it would have been the smaller size).

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had horizontal and vertical tears in the bottom quarter of the poster, with some paper loss scattered in the title area and black background around it. The rest of the poster had pretty minor creases and scuffs with some tears and pinholes around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
