I Married a Witch, the classic 1942 Rene Clair witchcraft romantic love triangle time travel fantasy comedy ("No man can resist her!"; "I Married a Witch ...and I'm not complaining would you?"; "Based upon a story by Thorne Smith completed by Norman Watson"; "She gets what she wants with.... Hex appeal!"; a complicated but enjoyable tale of a 17th century witch who was burned at the stake with her father, and she returns to the 20th century with her father to get revenge on the descendant of the man who burned them, but, through a very complicated process, she ends up falling in love with him instead!) starring Fredric March, Veronica Lake, Robert Benchley, Susan Hayward, Cecil Kellaway, and Ann Carter

Important Added Info: Note that this pressbook is very unusual in that the color image on the front cover was printed separately and glued onto the cover (this was likely done because it is printed with a special embossed image with gold ink, and they likely only wanted to spend that expense on the cover and not on the entire pressbook). Also included with this rare pressbook is a 10-page 12" x 18" supplement, plus the original tipped-in herald! Note that when studios would prepare pressbooks they would often include a sample of the herald. Most often, the herald is no longer still with the pressbook. Sometimes, the herald by itself will sell for almost as much as the rest of the entire pressbook! This pressbook contains the original herald which is pictured next to the pressbook below. Also note that pressbooks were prepared prior to a movie being released. Often, changes would be made in a movie advertising campaign (billing of actors, different images, etc.), and the theaters would print up special supplements that they would send out with the pressbooks that had already been printed. These supplements are very rare, far more rare than the pressbooks themselves! Some pressbooks would have no supplements, some would have one, and some would have several. Almost every Academy Award winning movie would have a special "Academy Award winner" supplement. Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook, and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut!

Condition: good to very good, NO CUTS. The pressbook is complete and uncut. It was never folded. There are some tiny tears and tiny chips around the edges of the front and back covers. The covers were separated at the spine in the bottom half and someone put clear tape on the inside of that area. The supplement at the tipped-in herald are both in pretty nice condition!
