eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 2z082 PINK PANTHER 24sh 1964 wacky art of Peter Sellers & David Niven by Jack Rickard! Date Sold 1/3/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Tri-Folded Twenty-Four-Sheet Movie Poster (24sh; measures approximately 9' x 20') (Learn More) The Pink Panther, the classic 1963 (released in the U.S. in 1964) Blake Edwards English/U.S. detective mystery crime comedy spoof ("You only live once... so see the Pink Panther twice!!!"; this movie spawned a long running series) starring David Niven, Peter Sellers (as Inspector Clouseau), Robert Wagner, Capucine, Brenda De Banzie, Colin Gordon, Fran Jeffries (billed as "introducing Fran Jeffries"), Claudia Cardinale ("As the Princess"), and featuring a very memorable musical soundtrack by Henry Mancini! Note that, oddly, this movie had premieres in five European countries in December 1963, and then continued to premiere in other countries in early 1964, and finally had its U.S. premiere in March 1964. We have no idea why the producers of the movie took this most unusual releasing strategy. This allowed the producers to make a sequel movie soon after filming on this movie ended, and that sequel, A Shot in the Dark, premiered in the U.S. in June 1964, just three months after this movie first played in the U.S.! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Jack Rickard Important Added Info: Note that this twenty-four sheet was printed in 14 sections designed to overlap. Also note this 24-sheet poster was folded in a way that makes it resemble a tri-folded six-sheet (only much larger, of course, as there are more sections). But the length and width of the folded 24-sheet is just about the same as that of a folded six-sheet or three-sheet. This means that this 24-sheet needs to be sent in an oversized flat package, which will measure roughly 16" x 38", and approximately 2" high, and it will cost more to send than a regular sized package. Note that this item needs to be shipped in an oversized flat package. Most of these items absolutely can only be sent in flat packages, and could not possibly be rolled into a tube. Some of them might SEEM like they could be rolled in a tube, like a half-sheet, but they can't. The reason these items are in this auction is specifically because they CAN'T be rolled (because rolling any of them would damage them, even if they somehow can be rolled). So please bear in mind that this item must be sent in a LARGE flat package (the size of the package will depend on the size of the item when ready for shipping), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it. Condition: very good. The poster has a few relatively small tears in a few portions of the edges but overall it appears that the poster was never displayed and it is otherwise in pretty nice condition.
