An Original Vintage Theatrical Kraftbacked Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Lena Rivers, the 1914 silent adoption family relationship romantic love triangle melodrama ("'Made in America'"; "A southern love story as sweet as the honeysuckle"; "In 5 parts"; based on the play by Beulah Poynter, adapted from the novel by Mary J. Holmes; about a young woman whose mother had her out of wedlock and her father was unknown to her, and she goes to live with her uncle, who has a daughter around the same age, and her adopted family make no secret of the fact that they don't like her, especially when the young man they picked out for their daughter likes the adopted girl better!) starring Beulah Poynter (billed as "Beulah Poynter in her own play"; in the title role as Lena Rivers), Lizzie Conway, Robert Taber, Charles De Forrest, Charles Hutchison, and Caroline Rankin. Note that this had been a very popular movie and play, and in 1914, two different movies were adapted from it (something that would not happen nowadays, because the rights would be bought by one, and the other could not do it, but in this case, apparently the other version was unauthorized, since this version included the playwright in the lead role!). The movie was remade in 1932 with Charlotte Henry (best remembered as Alice in "Alice in Wonderland") in the lead role. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that first release 1914 movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item of any kind from this movie until we received this one-sheet! Also note that this poster has been kraftbacked, which means it was backed onto a brown paper soon after it was printed (this process is called "kraft-backing", and posters with it are called "kraft-backed"). One could have it professionally removed from the kraft paper and linenbacked, and it would look great! Condition: good to very good. Aside from being kraftbacked (see above), the poster has some tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds, with slightly more paper loss in the bottom quarter of the vertical fold and in the center of the bottom border. It has some pinholes and paper loss around the edges. None of the above defects are all that significant. After the poster is removed from the kraft paper and properly linenbacked, it will look incredible! Learn More about condition grades
