An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Window Card (WC; measures 13 3/4" x 20 1/4" [35 x 51 cm]) (Learn More)

Under Four Flags, the 1918 S.L. Sothafel silent World War I (WWI) military soldier documentary ("Third United States Official War Picture"; "Taken by the official photographers of the Allied Armies"; "Presented by Division of Films, Committee on Public Information, George Creel, Chairman"; a co-production of the four Allied victors in World War I, covering the war from when it first started to when the Armistice was declared; amazingly, they were able to release this film just six days after the Armistice was declared!) featuring John J. Pershing, Armando Diaz, Ferdinand Foch, and Douglas Haig (all military leaders, appearing as themselves). Note that the Committee on Public Information released three feature-length films: Pershing's Crusaders, America's Answer (to the Hun) and Under Four Flags. Also, note that posters from this movie are incredibly rare (they show wonderful artwork of a soldier from each of the Allied nations, charging together to victory)!

Artist: Martiny
Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this war documentary movie until we received this wonderful window card!

Condition: very good to fine. The card may have been trimmed, because it measures 13 3/4" x 20 1/4", so it could have been made this size, but it does seem more likely it would have at least had a larger top blank area to leave more room for a theater name and play dates. Still, whether or not it was trimmed at all, it does not affect the image area or the text at bottom. There is slight staining in the top blank area and some scuffs in the bottom background area, but otherwise, the card is in really nice condition, especially considering its age!
