An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Movie Window Card (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More)

Reckless, the 1935 Victor Fleming romantic love triangle musical screwball comedy ("See Jean Harlow dance! Hear Jean Harlow sing the blues!"; "The giant melody drama!"; "MGM's mammoth musical melodrama!"; Harlow is a showgirl who is madly in love with sports promoter Powell, but he doesn't have time for her, and rich Tone chases after her, but discovers his rich high society friends won't accept showgirl Harlow, even after he marries her) starring Jean Harlow, William Powell, Franchot Tone, May Robson, Ted Healy (most famous as the person who started The Three Stooges; they were first billed as "Ted Healy and his Stooges"; he let them go on their own, hiring replacement "Stooges", but that did not work out well at all!), Nat Pendleton, Robert Light, Rosalind Russell, Mickey Rooney, Allen 'Farina' Hoskins, Man Mountain Dean (the real life wrestler, as himself!), Allan Jones ("The new crooning sensation!"), Henry Stephenson, and Leon Ames

Important Added Info: Note that first release posters from this movie are incredibly rare! We have only previously auctioned an insert, a Leader Press one-sheet, and two mini window cards until we received this window card! Also note that the card measures very slightly under 14" x 22" (an extremely tiny amount in each direction!) and has no left, right, or bottom blank borders, but it has NOT been trimmed (this was done at a time when MGM was experimenting with having as few borders as possible). Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a heavy paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, all but 3/4" of the window card's blank top was neatly trimmed off. It also had paper loss in the bottom border that extended into the yellow of Harlow's top and into the center of her neck in a V shape. There were some scuffs and faint stains scattered in the image. Overall, the window card was in good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
