An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Gaslight, the 1944 George Cukor suspense mystery thriller ("Strange drama of a captive sweetheart!"; "M-G-M's thrilling Gaslight"; "Strange drama of a captive sweetheart!"; "Based upon the play by Patrick Hamilton"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; about a woman whose strange husband is trying to make her think she is going insane, and her friend who tries to prevent that from happening) starring Charles Boyer (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Ingrid Bergman (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Joseph Cotten, Dame May Whitty, Angela Lansbury (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; in her first movie role!), Barbara Everest, and Heather Thatcher. Note that there have been many real life cases where someone has tried to make their spouse think they are losing their sanity, and it is commonly referred to as "gaslighting" that person, because of this famous movie with that plot! Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had small paper loss at the top crossfold and tiny paper loss at the bottom two crossfolds. It had minor wear on the folds. It had some pinholes and tiny bits of paper loss around the edges, with a few pinholes scattered in the image. It had 5" of paper loss in the top of the right blank border, but fortunately, it was not in the blue background, but all in the blank border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. A talented restorer did an excellent job of backing the poster (and it had very few defects within the image), and it now displays really well! Learn More about condition grades
