An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Two-Sided East German Movie Poster (measures 22 3/4" x 32" [58 x 81 cm]) (Learn More)

750 Jahre Berlin (literally translates to "750 Years of Berlin"), the 1987 East German poster celebrating the 750th anniversary of the City of Berlin. Berlin is the capital and the largest city of Germany, and was first documented in the 13th century. After World War II, the city was split into East Berlin (capital of East Germany) and West Berlin (capital of West Germany), and the Berlin Wall was constructed to physically divide the city. Following German reunification in 1990, Berlin once again became the capital of all of Germany. Interestingly, both halves of the city celebrated this event independently, and each side tried to "outshine" the other. The East had a victory parade of Socialist achievements, and the West held a massive rock concert (which attracted 3000 East Germans to the Wall to listen, and it took 3000 police to disperse them).
Artist: A.E.
Important Added Info: Note that this East German poster measures 22 3/4" x 32" [58 x 81 cm]. Also note that this poster is double-sided, but not in the regular way. There is a different image on each side of the poster. We have provided an image of each side, and please realize that the winner of this auction will receive ONE poster!
