An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Street of Seven Stars, the 1918 John B. O'Brien silent Paris France woman-chooses-family-life-over-career melodrama (based on the novel by Mary Roberts Rinehart; a real tearjerker!; about a young beautiful violinist who moves from the U.S. to Paris to be trained as a classical violinist, and she meets a doctor who is an American surgeon studying in Paris, and he has a young boy as a patient who is terminal, and the girl plays her violin for him; when she finds out the boy's mother was a vaudeville dancer who left her son to pursue her career, she finds the mother so she can say goodbye to her son, but she arrives only after he has died; the mother tells the violinist that she should play for her own children as she did for her little boy, and the violinist realizes that having a family is more important than having a career, and she goes to the doctor, and they prepare to marry) starring Doris Kenyon, Hugh Thompson, Carey L. Hastings, Stephen Carr, and Iva Shepard NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that any movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned anything other than an English three-sheet from this movie until we received this glass slide! Also note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good.
