Dunlap silent romantic love triangle screwball comedy ("Dash - Danger - Life - Love"; "It's a speed picture"; about the "chewing gum king" who is trying to marry his daughter to the "malted milk king's" son, but she meets a young inventor and falls in love with him, and when it turns out that the man she is supposed to marry is a rum smuggler, she gets kidnapped along with her father, and the inventor rescues them) starring George Walsh, Cecille Evans, Philo McCullough, Joan Meredith, Robert Bolder, and Spencer Bell (black African American actor of the 1920s and early 1930s who mostly only played stereotypical roles, but who played The Cowardly Lion in 1925's "The Wizard of Oz"). I would certainly bet that Preston Sturges saw this movie, because it certainly sounds like he was inspired by it in several different ways in some of his biggest hits! Also note that George Walsh was a major silent star (and brother of director Raoul Walsh). Click on his name to learn about his fascinating career, and why you likely have never heard of him! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: good to very good. There is slight smudging on the glass (it is not very distracting, and it could likely be cleaned). Learn More about condition grades
