eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 7d010 BOLD VENTURE billboard 1951 Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall + Genesee Beer & Ale! Date Sold 6/30/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Tri-Folded Billboard Advertising Poster (measures approximately 9' x 20') (Learn More) Bold Venture, the 1951 - 1952 Cuba romantic adventure melodrama syndicated radio series ("3 great stars in radio's greatest thriller!"; "Sponsored by Genesee old-fashioned beer & ale goodness"; "Every Wed. at 9:00 P.M. WIBX") starring Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, and Jester Hairston. Though this is forgotten today, this series starred married Bogart and Bacall, and the show was set in Cuba, where Bogart owned a hotel and an old boat. The producers wisely used elements from Bogart's greatest past successes, including the ship and basic plot from "To Have and Have Not" and Jester Hairston played a calypso singer at Bogart's hotel, who was exactly like Sam in "Casablanca"! There are 57 known episodes from this show, and possibly there were more. The show was turned into a TV series, but the stars did not go along with it, and Dane Clark starred, and it did not last long. Surely any promotional items from this radio show are scarce, and any Humphrey Bogart poster collector would surely the few items that exist from it. To date, we have auctioned a standee and a billboard poster, and nothing else from this show! If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this billboard poster was printed in 16 sections designed to overlap. Also note that this poster was tri-folded only (which means there is no vertical machine fold) but because it would be more expensive to send flat, it will be sent rolled in a tube. Note that this item needs to be shipped in an oversized flat package. Most of these items absolutely can only be sent in flat packages, and could not possibly be rolled into a tube. Some of them might SEEM like they could be rolled in a tube, like a half-sheet, but they can't. The reason these items are in this auction is specifically because they CAN'T be rolled (because rolling any of them would damage them, even if they somehow can be rolled). So please bear in mind that this item must be sent in a LARGE flat package (the size of the package will depend on the size of the item when ready for shipping), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it. IN THE CASE OF EXTREMELY LARGE FLAT ITEMS, THE SHIPPING COST WILL BE VERY HIGH, SO PLEASE DO NOT BID WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT THAT ADDED SHIPPING AMOUNT, AND INCLUDE THAT AMOUNT IN WHAT YOU BID (so if you would pay $150, but the shipping is likely $100, then only bid $50). And those who live outside the U.S. and who do not have a U.S. address to ship to SHOULD NOT BID AT ALL ON EXTREMELY LARGE FLAT ITEMS, BECAUSE THEY COST HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO SEND OUTSIDE THE U.S. Condition: good to very good. The poster has a few patches of slight discoloration and some tears and areas of paper loss along a few folds in the left half of the poster (see our image). The remaining central and right half areas are in very nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
