An Original Vintage Movie Promotional Tire Cover (measures 30" in diameter) (Learn More)

This is My Affair, the 1937 William A. Seiter Navy Naval Minneapolis Minnesota romantic military crime thriller ("Songs of mood and emotion by Gordon and Revel"; about a series of bank robberies in Minneapolis, and President McKinley himself orders a Navy lieutenant to investigate them, but he ends up more interested in the sister of one of the robbers) starring Robert Taylor, Barbara Stanwyck, Victor McLaglen, Brian Donlevy, John Carradine, Douglas Fowley, Alan Dinehart, Sig Ruman (billed as "Sig Rumann"), Robert McWade, Sidney Blackmer, and Frank Conroy

Important Added Info: Note that this is a cardboard tire cover with an elastic ring on the back that one could slip over the spare tire on the back of a car! These movie promotional tire covers are exceedingly rare, both because they are made of cardboard, and because they would no doubt fall apart within a few days of being used (and they were only used while the movie was being shown at that one theater, and were surely discarded when a new movie opened). But in the 1920s, they made these tire covers for virtually EVERY release, because no doubt the theater owners and their employees would put them on the spare tire on the back of their car, thus gaining very cheap (and noticeable) publicity for their current movie. Over the 23 years we have auctioned movie memorabilia, we have only seen a few surviving tire covers from ANY movies, and those few were in MUCH lesser condition, with no elastic on the back. The one offered here is in incredible unused condition

Condition: very good to fine. There is a small indentation and tear in the red background at lower center and there are some smudges and creases scattered throughout. The elastic ring on the back is still intact and somewhat flexible but we would not advise one to attempt to put this tire cover on a tire!
