Note that David Lean had shot Lawrence of Arabia in "Super Panavision 70", which was a 70mm process, and of course, that movie was a great success. He wanted to shoot this movie the exact same way, but MGM refused, and it was shot in "regular" 35mm Panavision. There are some English posters that were printed with "Super Panavision" on them, but the "Super" is blacked over on them (and the first release U.S. posters have solely "Panavision" on them). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this set contains 16 numbered color stills. We strongly suspect that this is a complete set of 16, and we have never had this complete set before. Note that although these stills were "printed in Great Britain", they have full NSS information. Perhaps they were intended to be used in both countries (we have heard from collectors who saw these color stills in U.S. theaters at the time the movies were released, but we have not heard from any English collectors as to whether they were used in England at that time). If any English collector knows if these were or were not used in English theaters when the movies were released, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good to very good. All the stills have faint water staining in the lower right. You can see it on the back of the stills, but not from the front, although all of them are lightly rippled in that area.
