An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Half-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) Destry Rides Again, the 1932 Alan James & Ben Stoloff cowboy western ("Carl Laemmle announces the triumphant return to the screen of the monarch of the plains"; "Here he is - in his first talking picture!"; "Carl Laemmle presents the monarch of the plains Tom Mix"; "From the novel by Max Brand") starring Tom Mix (in the title role as Tom Destry), Tony (billed as "and his wonder horse 'Tony'"), Claudia Dell, Zasu Pitts, Andy Devine, Earle Foxe, Francis Ford, Stanley Fields, and George Ernest. Note that Universal re-used this title and character name in the classic 1939 "Destry Rides Again", but the plot was significantly changed. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It was tattered in all its blank borders, and the person who restored the poster put new paper over the old borders (it was very well done, and I think few people would notice it unless it was specifically pointed out). The image area was in nice condition with the exception of the title area at center, which had a foreign language title painted on top of the original title. When the paint was removed from the title area, the original title was faded, and it required paint restoration to bring it back to its original appearance. The rest of the image area has little restoration anywhere, except for in the very edges of the image. The poster looks great! Learn More about condition grades
