An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 41" x 81") (Learn More) George Bernard Shaw's Major Barbara, the 1941 Gabriel Pascal English Salvation Army romantic family relationship comedy ("Bernard Shaw's crowning achievement!"; presented by "The Producer of Pygmalion") starring Wendy Hiller ("She is Major Barbara"; in the title role as Major Barbara Undershaft), Rex Harrison, Robert Morley, Robert Newton (billed as "Introducing Robert Newton"; Newton had been an actor since the '20s so we're not sure why he was listed this way), Sybil Thorndike, and Deborah Kerr (in her first role which led to her leading role in Love on the Dole) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This three-sheet was printed in 2 sections and is linenbacked. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). very good to fine. Poster had small paper loss on some foldlines and at some crossfolds. It had minor smudges and creases throughout, as well as some tears on some foldlines and some minor border defects. The poster is well linenbacked, and the minor defects are not noticeable except from close-up. Note that at some point, the poster was roughly handled and there are now minor creases down the left side of the linen (extending into the left edge of the actual poster).
