An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Campaign Book (measures 10 1/4" x 13" [26 x 33 cm]; 70 pages) (Learn More) Paramount Fall and Winter - 1924-25, the 1924 Paramount campaign book, sent to theater owners to encourage them to show Paramount movies. The book includes 82 pages with one-page spreads on Paramount's upcoming movies and stars. It is filled with lots of really cool full-color ads (some signed by the artists, and they are all different from the posters that appeared for those movies), including, naturally, several ads each for their two biggest stars, Rudolph Valentino and Gloria Swanson. We have pictured the cover and eight of the interior two-page spreads, but we really could have pictured them all! Paramount was far and away the number one studio at this time, and they clearly lavished a ton of money on the creation and printing of this campaign book (which was later imitated by the other studios, with equally lavish full-color ads). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Hilliker Important Added Info: Note that we auctioned this exact same campaign book in 2011, and at that time, it was the only example of it we had ever seen. Now the buyer from that auction has re-consigned it to us, and it is STILL the only one we have ever seen! Note: We have 12 images of the campaign books in this set, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 12 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 2. Condition: fair to good. At some point, the entire book became water stained around the edges, and it extends into the image areas in many ads, but it is very noticeable in some and not very noticeable in others. None of the pages are stuck together, but many are rippled somewhat around the edges. There is one interior page that has a release chart of upcoming movies, and the theater owner who owned this book added in the names of additional movies they announced onto that page in pen. Obviously, one would prefer to find a better example of this campaign book, but given that this is the only one we have ever seen, that might be an incredibly long wait!
