An Original Vintage Folded World War II Poster (measures 14 1/4" x 20" [36 x 51 cm]) (Learn More)

Don't Be A Job Hopper, the 1944 U.S. World War II (WWII) Home Front Walt Disney poster ("Our soldiers are sticking to their guns, stick to your job!"; "War Manpower Commission") encouraging workers to avoid changing jobs in the hopes of making more money, and featuring art of a grasshopper holding a lunchbox and fistful of cash with a factory in the background. This poster is ironic, because business owners were not being patriotic in asking people to stay on their jobs. At this time in World War II, because there was such a labor shortage with so many men being off in the war, every big company had a shortage of qualified people, and they had been "raiding" other companies' top employees by offering them higher salaries. So to help businesses, the government pushed the idea that not switching jobs was patriotic! But that didn't help, so near the end of the war, Congress put caps on the wages in many industries, so that workers would no longer be able to leave for a higher salary!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster! We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good. The poster was folded once in each direction. It has yellowed tape stains around the edges, and some creases and faint stains scattered throughout, with a water stain in the bottom border and small paper loss in three blank corners (someone taped a piece of blank paper to the back of each of those areas). Obviously, this great and rare poster can be restored, but bear in mind its defects before bidding on it.
