Experience the enchanted world of a young boy's imagination and behold the remarkable adventure that unfolds before your eyes."; based on the novel by Michael Ende) starring Noah Hathaway (as Atreyu), Barret Oliver (as Bastian), Tami Stronach (as the Childlike Empress), Patricia Hayes, Sydney Bromley, Gerald McRaney (as Bastian's father), and Moses Gunn (as Cairon). Note that this is surely one of the best children's movies of all time, and if you have never seen it (or have a child who has not), you should watch it together! However, please note that this movie is not the entire story of the book! It actually only covers the first half of the book (the second half picks up near where the movie ends, and Bastian saves the planet, but then becomes somewhat evil and battles with Atreyu, so it is not at all the feel-good story that the movie is). The author was so unhappy that he sued the producers, but lost. A sequel was made, but it didn't show the second half of the book, and instead had a completely different story line.
