An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Laugh and Get Rich, the 1931 Gregory La Cava family relationship rags-to-riches screwball comedy ("Flooding a million hearts with summer sunshine...."; a really wacky tale about a family that runs a boarding house, and the wife does all the work, and her husband is a dreamer who sits around, and they have a pretty young daughter who they want to "marry rich", but before that can happen, the husband steals his wife's money and invests in an oil well one of the boarders promoted, and his wife throws him out, but then they find out the well hit it big, and they are super rich, and they go to visit their snooty relatives, where the husband tries to get one of the rich relatives to invest in another deal he has made, and they find out the well has dried up and they are broke, and they return home, and resume living in the boarding house, but then they get word that the rich man bought the deal, and they will be richer than they ever were!) starring Dorothy Lee, Edna May Oliver, Hugh Herbert, Russell Gleason, John Harron, and Charles Sellon. Note that this sort of zany rags-to-riches comedy was very popular in 1931 at the height of The Depression, when so many people were out of work and looking for anything to help them escape their real life troubles! Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass. Otherwise, the cardboard holder has staining or smudges around the staples, but the glass slide itself is in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
