The most beloved of all Albert Payson Terhune's wonderful stories"; "The most beloved of all Albert Payson Terhune's dog stories is on the screen at last!"; "Recommended for people only!") starring Peter Breck, Peggy McCay, Carroll O'Connor, Angela Cartwright, Lad the Dog (billed as "and introducing Lad"), Maurice Dallimore, and Alice Pearce. Note that the stories that formed the novel "Lad: A Dog" were first written in magazines by Albert Payson Terhune in the 1910s, and the novel was first published in 1919, and became a best seller for children over the next decades, selling millions of copies.
