An Original Vintage Unfolded Special Advertising Poster (measures 26 1/4" x 39") (Learn More) RC Cola (short for Royal Crown Cola) is an American brand of cola-flavored soft drink developed in 1934. In 1905 Claud A. Hatcher (partially because of a feud between him and the local Coca-Cola salesman) started producing soft drinks under the name Union Bottling Works. The first product in the Royal Crown line was Royal Crown Ginger Ale followed by Royal Crown Strawberry, and Royal Crown Root Beer. In 1910 the company was renamed Chero-Cola and then Nehi Corp in 1925. In 1934, Rufus Kamm reformulated an existing flavor and it was re-released as Royal Crown Cola. in 1955, the company was renamed to Royal Crown Company after the success of its RC Cola brand. In 1984, RC Cola accounted for approximately 4-5% of soft drink sales in the United States, behind only Coke, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, and Seven Up. Important Added Info: Note that this poster is not "roll-able", because the paper is thick enough that rolling it would surely damage it (but the poster is not fragile). Therefore we will send it in a large flat package that measures approximately 28" x 41". Please bear that extra shipping cost in mind BEFORE placing a bid on this poster! Condition: very good to fine. The poster was created on a heavy board stock. There are smudges in the left of the top border and in the two left boxes, and some tiny surface paper loss and tinier paper loss around the edges. There are a few scuffs in the borders and one in the hair of the man at right. Other than the above, the poster is in really nice condition, and it is not aged or fragile.
