7x0063 LILLI PALMER signed 9x11 agreement '46 hired to play Gina in Fritz Lang's Cloak & Dagger!

An Autographed Agreement (measures 8 1/2" X 11"; 9 pages) (Learn More)

Lilli Palmer was a German actress from the 1930s to the 1980s. Some of her roles include: The Counterfeit Traitor, Secret Agent, Body and Soul, and The Boys from Brazil. She was married to Rex Harrison from 1943 to 1957, but they divorced to he could take care of Kay Francis. Lilli passed away in 1986 at the age of 71.
Important Added Info: Note that this agreement has been personally autographed (signed) by Lilli Palmer! It is fascinating that this "agreement" spells out all of the star's obligations to the studio (the contract can be extended, they can't work for anyone else, etc.), and it also spells out all of the LACK of the studio's obligation to the star (if anything happens, they can stop paying the star immediately, etc.). You can sure see what a stranglehold the studios had on the stars and why the "studio system" broke down! Note that we have photographed the first page of the agreement, as well as the page with the signatures (we did not photograph the other pages, but you can see above how many pages there are in all).

Note that our consignor has been a memorabilia dealer for the past 30 years, and he tells us that he is certain this autograph is authentic. In some cases he obtained the autographs in person, and in other cases (like with contracts and agreements), it is obvious the signatures are authentic, but he vouches for the authenticity of every item that he has consigned to us, and we also feel certain that the autographs are authentic.

Condition: very good to fine.
