What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had darkened around the edges where there were also scattered stains and nail holes. There were many tears and small areas of paper loss on parts of most folds, with larger paper loss in the right of the horizontal fold above Chaplin's foot, affecting a small part of the cane. There were tears and small paper loss in Chaplin's face and hand, with an area of paper loss at the top of his coat by his hand. There were some stains and smudges scattered in the yellow areas. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. The person who restored the poster made the image area presentable, but you can clearly see many signs of the restoration, and they pretty much left alone the border areas. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its many condition defects described above, the nature of the restoration, and the potential expense if the new owner chooses to have additional restoration performed.
