(Learn More) Katy Jurado was a Mexican actress from the 1940s to the 2000s. She played the lead in lots of conventional movies in her native Mexico, but in Hollywood productions, she was typecast and forced to play Mexican parts. She is surely best remembered for her part as "Helen Ramirez" in the classic High Noon, and she also had parts in One-Eyed Jacks and Broken Lance (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film). She passed away in 2002 at the age of 78. Important Added Info: Note that in the case of this negative, it comes together with an "unretouched proof photo" that was created by the studio (see our images). The proof has a date stamp on the back of OCT 16 1952, and it has a stamp that reads "THIS PHOTO IS UNRETOUCHED". The negative is a CAMERA ORIGINAL negative, the actual film that was in the camera when the photographer shot the image. We have taken a scan of the negative as it appears, and also a special scan of the negative that shows the "positive image". We will provide the winning bidder of this auction with that positive image scan. We have also provided a scan of the front and back of the proof. Note that the movie referred to on the back of the proof ("Arrowhead") is called "Adobe Walls", which was the title of the source novel!
