An Undated (probably between between 1919 and 1921) Re-Release Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More)

The Count, the 1916 Charlie Chaplin silent slapstick romantic comedy short (about the Tramp getting a job working for a count, but then he irons his trousers and burns them and is fired; he finds an invitation to a party for the count, and he goes to the party and impersonates the count, but then the real count shows up) starring Charlie Chaplin (Charles Chaplin), Edna Purviance, Eric Campbell, Albert Austin, Henry Bergman, and Leo White (in the title role as Count Broko)

Important Added Info: Note that in 1919, the Clark-Cornelius Corporation bought the rights to the early Charlie Chaplin shorts, and began re-releasing them. In 1922, they released them for the last time, and in that year, they changed their name to C.C. Pictures. Some of the re-release paper from this company has the original release date on it, but they definitely date from between 1919 and 1921 if they say "Clark-Cornelius Corporation" or from 1922 if they say "C.C. Pictures". Also, note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see!

Condition: good to very good. There is smudging in between the panes, and half of the black tape is missing. We know that the slide can be restored by an expert, or one could live with these defects, but bear them in mind before placing a bid.
