(Learn More) Kelly the Second, the 1936 Gus Meins romantic boxing sports comedy ("A full length comedy"; "90 Merry minutes of screen joy"; produced by Hal Roach) starring Patsy Kelly, Charley Chase (primarily remembered as a great silent comedian who appeared in 276 movies, most of them comedy shorts, Chase also directed 140 comedy shorts), Guinn 'Big Boy' Williams, Pert Kelton, Harold Huber, Billy Gilbert, Max 'Slapsie Maxie' Rosenbloom, and Edward Brophy NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we believe the 24-sheet (pictured on the back cover in full color) has art by Al Hirschfeld. Also note that there is a "tipped in" herald (we have pictured the part that shows on the inside front cover, but we did not open it up). Note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: fair, NO CUTS. The pressbook is complete and uncut. Like most MGM pressbooks of this period, the interior pages are very fragile and they are all darkened with some tears around the edges. There was once a snipe glued to the front cover and part of it remains near the center. There are some tears around the edges of the front and back covers, but they are not very fragile.
