A Linenbacked English 1970s Reproduction Poster (measures 16 1/2" x 22 3/4" [42 x 58 cm]) (Learn More)

Britain Shall Not Burn, the 1941 English World War II (WWII) Home Front poster ("Beat 'Firebox Fritz'"; "Britain's Fire Guard is Britain's defence"; "Issued by the Ministry of Home Security") assuring citizens that trained fire fighters were ready to put out fires started by German bombing, and featuring wonderful Fritz Rosen cartoon artwork of an angry German incendiary bomb.
Artist: Fritz Rosen
Important Added Info: Note that this is a reproduction of the original 1941 war poster which was apparently part of a series printed by an English newspaper in the 1970s to commemorate the end of the war. Please do not bid on it thinking it is the original 1941 war poster, because it is a 1970s reproduction.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was folded across the middle and it had tiny paper loss at the middle of the fold, with some smudges, creases, and scuffs across that fold. It had two other folds with a much lesser amount of wear. It had some paper loss in the top blank corners, with some smudges and stains around the edges and some surface paper loss in the bottom tagline in the white area. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above.
