An Original Vintage Theatrical Promotional Movie Brochure (measures 4" x 7 1/2" [10 x 19 cm]; 32 pages) (Learn More) MGM 1925-26, the 1925 MGM studio booklet ("Some of the great pictures for coming months") sent to theater-owners to encourage them to book MGM films such as: The Unholy Three and The Span of Life (both starring Lon Chaney Sr.), The Merry Widow (directed by Erich von Stroheim), The Mysterious Island, Mare Nostrum, Lights of Old Broadway, Old Clothes, Pretty Lady and more! It appears that each of the 1-page ads is a smaller version of the ads that appeared in the MGM 1925-26 campaign book. Note that there is an ad for "The Flesh and the Devil", and they show Carmel Myers as the co-star to John Gilbert, but of course, Greta Garbo played the part (the IMDb says that Lillian Gish was the first actress chosen for the movie)! Also note that there is an ad for "The Mysterious Island", and it notes that it has "Technicolor sequences", and the movie WAS made, but not until 1929.
