He was far from an overnight success! He started making movies in 1930, and appeared in lots of movies every year, but mostly in uncredited roles. In 1936, he joined John Ford's stock company, and appeared in 11 Ford movies, but the most important was The Grapes of Wrath in 1940, where he really got noticed, and then his career greatly improved, but he still mostly played supporting roles, both in movies and on TV, with over 300 appearances in all! Some of his other movies include: Bride of Frankenstein and House of Frankenstein. Of course, he is father to David, Keith, and Robert Carradine, who all went on to have Hollywood careers! He passed away in 1988 at the age of 82.AND Eugene Pallette was an actor from the 1910s to the 1940s. Some of his movies include: Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, The Adventures of Robin Hood, The Birth of a Nation, My Man Godfrey, and The Lady Eve Important Added Info: This page, which was removed from an autograph book, has been personally autographed (signed) on one side by John Carradine and on the other side by Eugene Pallette! The person who owned the autograph book put a small image of Mr. Carradine above his signature and the stars' names are handwritten above and below the autographs (once in script and once in print). It is interesting to note that both stars' names are misspelled! Included with the book page are two black & white REPRODUCTIONS of John Carradine. This page could be matted with either or both of the included repros and framed together to make a cool display (of course, then the Eugene Pallette autograph would not be visible). Note that this item was consigned by a major horror collector who attended many collectible shows and obtained autographs at shows and through the mail, and we are 100% certain his items are authentic! As is true of all the signed items we auction, we give every buyer of a signed item 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. Condition: very good. There is a small image of John Carradine glued above his autograph. The page was removed from an autograph album (see our images). Learn More about condition grades
