What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. Someone trimmed off parts of the blank borders, and the poster measures 25 1/4" x 37 1/4". The poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds. It had some extra creases, tiny tears, and tiny bits of paper loss along parts of most folds, with pinholes and smudges around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster backed many years ago onto a thin linen without replacing the missing parts of the blank borders, and with no excess, and at some point over the years, it became water stained down the right side, mostly in the blank border but entering Bogart's sleeve in one area. There is also some light staining around the rest of the poster, and it is lightly rippled around the edges. If I owned this poster, I would surely have it removed from the old linen and properly re-backed, but please consider all of the above before bidding.
