An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 4 3/4" x 7 3/4" when folded; 4 pages) (Learn More) the 1939 theatrical release of the boxing sports match ("See what the champion did in this full entertainment packed with action") between Joe Louis and Tony "Two-Ton" Galento that took place at Yankee Stadium in New York City, New York on June 28th, 1939. In the days before television was widely available, boxing matches were almost always filmed and then released to movie theaters, and the best matches often were extremely popular with moviegoers. Note that this was one of many of Joe Louis' title defenses before the war, and he won, knocking out Galento at 2:29 in the 4th round of the match. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note this herald was folded in half at one time as was originally intended. Condition: good.
