An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Ebony Parade, the 1947 Astor Pictures black African American musical stage musical compilation ("20 great stars") starring Cab Calloway and His Band, Count Basie and His Band, Mills Bros., Vanita Smythe, Mantan Moreland, Mabel Lee, Ruby Hill, Francine Everett, Dorothy Dandridge, Pat Flowers, 'Day, Dawn, and Dusk', and Jubilaires. Note that this film is a compilation of Soundies (musical film shorts which were played on a "Panoram", a "video jukebox" that was put in nightclubs, bars, and restaurants). These Soundies were created between 1940 and 1946, but were only available in big cities like New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, and this film compilation of many of them gave the rest of the country a chance to see these great stars performing. The poster had small paper loss at the bottom two crossfolds and tiny paper loss at the top crossfold. It had some tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds. It had many pinholes around the edges and some scattered in the image. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
