Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More)

En Fremmed banker pa (released in the U.S. in 1965 as "A Stranger Knocks"), the 1959 Johan Jacobsen Danish post-World War II (WWII) ex-Nazi officer romantic melodrama ("'Come live with me and be my love and we will all the pleasures prove.' - Christopher Marlowe"; an unusual movie set in 1947, about a man who turns up at a woman's home in Denmark, and he seems to be a drifter, and she takes him in, and they fall in love, but she later learns he is a former Nazi SS officer who beat her husband to death, and at the climax of the movie, she shoots him dead) starring Brigitte Federspiel, Preban Lerdorff Rye, and Victor Montell. Note that this was a serious and depressing movie that won three Danish Film Festival awards, but it included a pretty graphic romantic scene between the man and woman, and when the movie was released in the U.S., they seized on that part of the movie and tried to present it as though it were a sexploitation movie!
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that the poster was oddly folded with two vertical foldlines instead of the usual one.

Condition: very good. There are minor creases throughout the poster (mostly in the foldlines). There is minor separation at some of the crossfolds. There is a pair of staple holes or two in each corner. There is a jagged 4" tear in the right of the bottom border. Note that this is one of a collection of 39 extremely rare burlesque, sexploitation, and exploitation movie posters from 1938 to 1979 offered by eMoviePoster this week on eBay. These posters are far more rare than regular movie posters because they played in very few theaters. Few of these posters were printed and few survive (especially those from before 1970). Included in this collection are some of the most classic of these titles, including films of Russ Meyer and Radley Metzger. Be sure to look at the other 38 items from this collection by clicking HERE
