An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French One-Panel Movie Poster (measures 47 1/4" x 62 3/4"; known as a 'grande' poster in France) (Learn More) Funny Face, the 1957 Stanley Donen New York City Paris France romantic musical comedy ("Presented in a real new dimension in motion picture entertainment."; "Written by Leonard Gershe"; "Music and Lyrics George & Ira Gershwin"; "Choreography by Eugene Loring & Fred Astaire"; Hepburn is a worker in a bookstore who is discovered by a much older Fred Astaire) starring Audrey Hepburn, Fred Astaire, Kay Thompson, Michel Auclair, Robert Flemyng, and Dovima NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Grinsson Condition: good to very good. The poster had had darkened on many foldlines, more so in the blank borders, and in the light colored background areas (typical of French one-panel posters of this period). There were creases, tears, and some tiny areas of paper loss on some foldlines and some small areas of paper loss at some crossfolds. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can still see some signs of the restoration to the above defects (it is not all that distracting, and I would think many people could happily display this poster just as it is, and certainly, a restorer could likely perform additional touch up to the poster without re-backing it).
