An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) The Mummy, the classic 1932 Karl Freund Universal Ancient Egypt romantic monster horror thriller ("It comes to life!"; "The most amazing make-up ever achieved"; "Story by Nina Wilcox Putnam and Richard Schayer") starring Boris Karloff ("The Uncanny"; in the title role as Imhotep the Mummy), Zita Johann, David Manners, Edward Van Sloan, Arthur Byron, Bramwell Fletcher, and Noble Johnson (as The Nubian) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this wonderful deluxe still shows two advertising posters in a forefront for this movie, which was playing at a local theater, the RKO Hillstreet. The theater created these large signs, which appear to be created from original stills, as well as a title lobby card and a half-sheet, and those store displays would be worth a fortune if they still existed! Also note that the displays are from prior to January 20 of 1933, and this movie had opened on December 22, 1932, so this still is from 1933, but of course, from the first continuous release of the movie. Finally, note that while the movie was playing at the theater for one week starting January 20, these posters also advertise a "Mummy Film Frolic & Ball", which took place at the theater on Monday, January 23, and while we can't say for certain, it sounds like it was a movie plus costume party! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. Also note that this still has two punch holes in the left border, so it could be a key book still, or someone could have just put those punch holes there. Condition: very good.
