An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 41" x 81") (Learn More)

Moss Hart's Winged Victory, the 1944 George Cukor patriotic World War II (WWII) military airplane aviation pilot romantic action thriller ("20th Century-Fox in association with the U.S. Army Air Forces presents Moss Hart's Winged Victory"; "Produced by Darryl F. Zanuck"; "Stage play and screen play by Moss Hart"; patriotic propaganda designed to keep America's morale up after 4 years at war) starring Lon McCallister (billed as "Pvt. Lon McCallister"), Jeanne Crain, Edmond O'Brien (billed as "Sgt. Edmond O'Brien"), Jane Ball, Mark Daniels (billed as "Sgt. Mark Daniels"), Jo-Carroll Dennison, Don Taylor (billed as "Cpl. Don Taylor"), Judy Holliday (in her first credited movie!), Lee J. Cobb (billed as "Cpl. Lee J. Cobb"), Peter Lind Hayes (billed as "T/Sgt. Peter Lind Hayes"), and Alan Baxter (billed as "Cpl. Alan Baxter"). Note that the cast also included an unbilled George Reeves ("Sgt. George Reeves"), Karl Malden ("Cpl. Karl Malden"), Red Buttons ("Cpl. Red Buttons"), Gary Merrill ("Cpl. Gary Merrill"), Martin Ritt ("Pfc. Martin Ritt"), among others. Basically, it sounds like they rounded up as many actors in uniform as they could!

Important Added Info: This three-sheet was printed in 2 sections and is linenbacked.

Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!).

very good to fine. Poster had small paper loss on some foldlines and at some crossfolds. It had minor smudges and creases throughout, as well as some tears on some foldlines and some minor border defects. The poster is well linenbacked, and the minor defects are not noticeable except from close-up. At some point after linenbacking the poster was slightly roughly handled and there are now creases at the top of the left and right borders and across the top edge (these creases are mostly in the linen, but they somewhat extend into the image of the poster).
