A Vintage Hardcover Book (measures 11 1/4" x 14 1/2" [29 x 37 cm]; 426 pages) (Learn More)

David O. Selznick's Hollywood, the 1980 Ronald Haver illustrated book documenting the film producing career of David O. Selznick, with color and black-and-white photographs throughout this large-format hardcover book.

Of course, David O. Selznick was a famous producer in the 1920s to the 1950s. He produced such films as Gone with the Wind, The Third Man, King Kong, Rebecca, Spellbound, The Paradine Case, and Dinner at Eight as well as creating his own production company Selznick International Pictures! He was also married to Jennifer Jones until his death in 1965.
Important Added Info: Note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. Note that the last two images show an embossed foil reproduction of the special insert (front and back; the inside is blank) included in the Hollywood Reporter for the premiere of King Kong at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. That insert was made from copper (from left-over sheeting used during the production of the movie) and featured Keye Luke art of the Empire State building, the island wall and chains. Our consignor tells us that this foil reproduction was only available in the Knopf 1st edition of the book!

Condition: good to very good. The dust jacket has many scuffs in the red areas, and the price was clipped from the inside flap. The book itself is in pretty nice condition.
