Date Sold 7/19/2015 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 4 1931 German stills of Anna Sten. Anna Sten was an actress from the 1920s to the 1950s. She was half Russian and half Swedish, and Samuel Goldwyn saw her in a German movie, and thought she could become another Garbo or Dietrich, and he signed her to a Hollywood contract, not knowing she could not speak English! After a year of intensive English studying, Goldwyn cast her as the lead in "Nana", but the movie was not very successful, and Goldwyn made two more movies with her, but then gave up, and she only made a handful more movies. Some of her movie roles include: Devushka s Korobkoy, So Ends Our Night, The Wedding Night, Bomben auf Monte Carlo, and We Live Again. We have photographed the front and back of each still (all have UFA stamps on the back, and one has "1931" written in pencil, and we strongly suspect they are all from 1931). Three of them measure 6 3/4" x 9 1/4", and one measures 6 1/4" x 9 1/4", but it does not appear to be trimmed. Measurements: from 6 1/4" x 9 1/4" to 6 3/4" x 9 1/4"Condition: very good to fine.
