An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

The Mark of Zorro, the 1920 Fred Niblo silent south-of-the-border masked-hero western adventure thriller ("From the 'All Story Weekly' novel 'The Curse of Capistrano' by Johnston McCulley") starring Douglas Fairbanks (in the title role as Zorro), Marguerite De La Motte, Robert McKim, Noah Beery Sr., Charles Hill Mailes, and Claire McDowell. It is interesting to note that this was the very first Zorro movie ever, and that Zorro, created in a pulp story in 1919, was the very first masked superhero ever!

Important Added Info: Note that this lobby card has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the lobby card was backed onto a heavy paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original lobby card (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards.

What IS paperbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. Prior to paperbacking, the card had been folded down the middle and there were creases down that fold, and some smudges, pinholes, and tiny tears around the edges. There were some smudges and scuffs scattered in the image. Overall, the lobby card was in good condition prior to paperbacking. The card was backed onto a heavy backing, and it has "curled" slightly so that it doesn't lay flat, and the card is also slightly "bent" down the center where the fold was (these defects would not be that noticeable if the card were framed, but it is important we make you aware of them).
