A 1936 Re-Release Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 40 3/4" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

State Fair, the 1933 Henry King romantic comedy ("State Fair with the World's Greatest Cast"; "8 Great Stars in One Picture"; "Screen Play by Sonya Levien and Paul Green"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; about a small town Midwestern family and their eventful trip to the annual State Fair; based on the "Novel by Phil Stong") starring Janet Gaynor, Will Rogers, Lew Ayres, Sally Eilers, Norman Foster, Louise Dresser, Frank Craven, and Victor Jory. Note that the movie was re-made in 1945 and again in 1962!

Important Added Info: Note that Will Rogers was the foremost movie star for Fox Pictures in the early 1930s, and was at the height of his career when he was killed in a plane crash in 1935. Fox had just merged with Twentieth Century Pictures to form 20th Century Fox (Rogers had made one movie for the combined company), and immediately after his death, and for the year after, 20th Century Fox re-issued all of his sound movies. This poster is from the 1936 re-release of Rogers' 1933 "State Fair", and it is a far nicer poster than the first release posters from just a few years earlier.

Condition: fair to good. The poster has pinholes around the edges and separation at the top two crossfolds with some tiny tears on portions of some foldlines. It has large light water stains scattered in the left half of the poster, with a few small ones in the right half. Obviously this poster can be linenbacked and restored, but bear its defects in mind before bidding on it.
