Marshall, Lee Marvin, and Tom Tully (in his nominated for Best Supporting Actor Academy Award role; as Commander DeVreiss, the first Captain of "The Caine") AND The Clown, the 1953 Robert Z. Leonard riches-to-rags alcoholic circus clown father-and-adoring-son family relationship melodrama ("Story by Francis Marion"; "From an adaptation by Leonard Praskins"; similar to "The Champ", but with a clown in place of a boxer) starring Red Skelton (in the title role), Jane Greer, Tim Considine, Loring Smith, and Philip Ober NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster is double-sided, but not at all in the usual way! The theater owner in Yugoslavia needed a poster to advertise a showing of The Caine Mutiny, but they did not have one, so they took a regular poster for The Clown and they had someone paint an entire poster for The Caine Mutiny on the back side. So the person who purchases this poster will receive an actual hand-painted original poster, that is on the back of another poster! We have provided an image of each side, but please realize that the winner of this auction will receive ONE poster! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster has various edge defects and the hand painted side of the poster shows signs of wear from being folded for some time and there are some areas of rubbing and smudges scattered throughout but otherwise it is in generally nice condition. The regular side has some smudges throughout but is otherwise in generally nice condition as well. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
